David W. Randall, a 41-year-old Baldwin resident from Milburn Avenue, reportedly flashed a handgun during an argument with his 17-year-old daughter on June 10, police have said.

According to officials, the argument between Randall and his daughter was first reported around 10:25 p.m. on Sunday night. The flare up occurred outside a home on Fulton Avenue in Hempstead Village and involved Mr. Randall, his daughter, and the girl's 39-year-old mother, Randall's ex-wife. Reports indicate the disagreement escalated in front of the home and involved Mr. Randall showing a handgun to the older woman and claiming, "I could have shot her," a police report said.

Randall then left the scene heading south on Meadowbrook Road where a police officer observed him tossing a handgun into the yard of a home on Front Street. Police were later able to recover the weapon.

Randall was charged with second-degree menacing and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon following the incident. He was arraigned on Monday at the First District Court in Hempstead.
