Bellmore-Merrick digs out –– again

Posted

A fierce winter storm swept across Bellmore-Merrick Thursday into Friday, blanketing the community in snow yet again, this time dumping an estimated six to eight inches of the white stuff on the ground.

On Friday morning, local residents were hurriedly digging out, much to their chagrin. But school kids were happy. All five Bellmore-Merrick school districts were closed for the third time this academic year.

At noon, the flakes were still falling, with snow expected to continue coming down into the evening, if not Saturday.
