Bellmore resident receives service award

The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. recently recognized a Bellmorite for her 30 years of service to the organization.

Sara Sandoval, an educational assistant at the agency’s Children’s Learning Center, received an award from Assistant Executive Director Karen Geller Hittleman last month.

Sandoval has worked at the learning center since 1982. She currently works with the preschool readiness class for Spanish-dominant children, where she helps students develop skills in their native language and English. Hittleman thanked her for her significant contributions to the agency.

The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. is an independent, non-profit health agency serving more than 1,800 children and adults with cerebral palsy, developmental and other disabilities. The agency, founded in 1948, operates a treatment and rehabilitation center in Roosevelt. Close to 2,000 children and adults benefit from the programs and services that the organization offers.
