Borrelli’s turns the clock back to 1955

Italian Restaurant celebrates 55 years in East Meadow

When Borrelli’s Italian Restaurant opened in 1955, basic pasta dishes cost about 80 cents. Fancier entrees, like manicotti, ran at about a dollar.

Fifty-five years later, customers have another chance to eat at those same prices.

To celebrate Borrelli’s 55th anniversary in East Meadow, the Italian restaurant is offering a special deal available Monday through Thursday up until Oct. 7. Buy one entrée at full price, get one for the 1955 price. In other words, buy one order of manicotti at $11 and get another for a dollar.

Owner Frank Borrelli said the special deal is a way to express appreciation to those who have supported the business ever since his father opened it in 1955.

“It’s a way for our family to say thank you,” Borrelli said. “We want to give back to the community.” Borrelli’s is located at 1580 Hempstead Turnpike.
