On warm Thursday evenings in the summer, Sea Cliff families flood Memorial Park with their picnic baskets and beach chairs in tow. Residents lay down their rainbow-colored blankets, take off their shoes, and exhale, knowing that they’re ending their day in the best way. When the clock strikes 7 p.m., the first guitar chord rings out, and the band begins to fill the air with melodies old and new.
Sea Cliff’s annual Sunset Serenade concert series is adored by the entire community. For many, attending is a summer tradition, and a gathering place to unite with friends during the busy workweek.
What began 18 years ago as a casual gig for ensembles has become so much more. The series introduces neighbors to one another, gives children a platform to share their music during Teen Serenade, and adds to the long list of events that make Sea Cliff so special.
Join the community for the penultimate Sunset Serenade on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Memorial Park, where fan-favorite band RiDe will perform covers of classic rock hits.
