Bulldogs take on the Rough Riders in sled hockey

The Long Island Rough Riders and Bellmore-Merrick Bulldogs teamed up for a friendly hockey game at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Hockey Rink in Bethpage last Saturday.

The Bellmore-Merrick Bulldogs recently played the Long Island Rough Riders sled hockey team at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Hockey Rink in Bethpage.
The friendly game, which has become an annual event between the two teams, resulted in a 7-1 victory for the Rough Riders.
The Long Island Rough Riders are part of the Long Island Sled Hockey League. The team comprises children with disabilities.
Bulldogs coach Chris Patten said that the two teams have developed a relationship over the years, and they look forward to playing the game each year. “It was absolutely a wonderful, wonderful morning –– very humbling for my boys,” he said.
