The Sanford H. Calhoun Music Boosters presented its first-ever holiday showcase, “Jingle Bell Jam,” which premiered virtually on YouTube on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
The virtual concert featured talented vocalists and instrumentalists from Calhoun, and a performance by Calhoun-Mepham’s District Orchestra. The 40-minute show filled homes with beautiful seasonal songs and brought some much-needed holiday cheer while raising money for the Music Boosters’ Senior Scholarship Fund and the Bellmore-Merrick Community Cupboard.
Although the performers taped their acts separately, there was a great sense of togetherness and harmony. The final song — an acapella rendition of “Halleluja” performed by seniors Sean Condenzio, Isabelle Oliver, Jillian Seibold and Max Unlu — gave viewers peace, hope and joy for the future.
“We are grateful that music has brought our community together,” said Music Boosters President Joanne Genzone.
