Calhoun reaches out on Thanksgiving

Calhoun High School recently held its fourth annual Pre-Thanksgiving Fundraising Dinner to raise money for local Bellmore and Merrick families in need during this holiday season.
About 250 members from the community participated in the event, which raised more than $2,300.
“It was a huge community effort,” said Catherine Bisacco, a social worker at Calhoun who helped organize the event.
Parents and staff donated all of the food and drinks, and the entertainment was provided by students in the Express Yourself Club, a drama club at Calhoun that helps students improve their socialization skills.
