Calhoun students make valentines for vets

Posted

Students in Calhoun High School’s Breakfast Club and its Prep for Life program recently joined together to create Valentine’s Day cards for veterans.

The Breakfast Club encourages its members to look past school labels, drawing students from diverse backgrounds to form bonds and collaborate on volunteer projects. The Prep for Life program helps students with disabilities develop skills needed to transition from school to adult life. Together these students worked with homemade Valentine’s Day card staples — red construction paper, scissors, glue and glitter — to create colorful and heartfelt cards thanking veterans for their service to the nation.

Calhoun’s staff sent the cards to local veterans organizations before Feb. 14.
