Call for legal assistance on primary day

Live help on polling issues on April 19

For voters who have questions or issues at their polling place a legal hotline has been set up by Election Protection, the nation’s largest nonpartisan voter protection coalition, which is led by the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights to help ensure that all eligible New Yorkers have an equal opportunity to vote on Tuesday in the presidential primary.

The (866) 687-8683 hotline will operate live and in real time from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on April 19. For English/Spanish assistance it is (888) 839- 8682 and will be also be available live from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Help is also available in six Asian languages: Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Bengali, Urdu and Tagalog, at (888) 274-8683, managed by Asian Americans Advancing Justice. This number will not be live on April 19; voters will be asked to leave a voicemail.
