Posted

A Chevy Tahoe burst into flames Monday afternoon on the northbound side of the Meadowbrook State Parkway near Babylon Turnpike. About 12 Merrick Fire Department members rushed to the scene in three fire vehicles and two ambulances and extinguished the fire, according to department spokesman Ron Luparello. He said that, to his knowledge, the fire injured no one, though it seriously damaged the vehicle. New York State Police shut down the Meadowbrook’s northbound side to traffic for about 15 minutes while the firefighters worked.
