On Aug. 28 at about 7:30 p.m., the Lynbrook Fire Department was dispatched to a reported auto accident and overturn at the intersection of Merrick Road and Earle Avenue. The Lynbrook Fire Department’s Extrication Truck and ambulance 425 from the Emergency Medical Company, all under the command of Second Deputy Chief Anthony DeCarlo, responded to the scene.

The driver of the overturned SUV crawled out of her car and was treated by the Medical Company and transported to South Nassau Hospital for tests. The driver of the second vehicle was not hurt and declined medical assistance. Both vehicles were travelling on Merrick Road when SUV allegedly made a left from Merrick Road onto Earle Avenue and was struck by the other vehicle travelling west on Merrick.
