Cast of characters parades up Bedford Ave. for Bellmore Chamber Halloween parade

Posted

The Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores hosted its annual Halloween parade last weekend, drawing dozens of costume-clad kids to the community’s downtown.

Parade-goers assembled on Pettit Avenue, near Bellmore Fire Department headquarters, at 11:45 a.m. The sun stayed out for the marchers, whose costumes ranged from superheroes, Disney characters, animals, princesses and more.

Dozens of local folks began marching up Bedford Avenue at noon, waving to onlookers in Bellmore Village. Among the spectators were local business owners, who participated in the festivities in a special way. After the procession, children trick-or-treated at select downtown businesses. Participating shops posted signs in their windows to let children and parents know that sweet treats were available inside.
