Celebrating 75 years of Merrick Life

This week, we are proud to present a Merrick Herald Life special section celebrating the publication’s 75th anniversary. The section celebrates the work of Linda Toscano and Paul Laursen, the Life’s former publisher and editor, respectively, and their staff, while also taking a nostalgic look at Merrick’s storied past, dating back to the early 20th century.

As a proud Merokean and a history buff, I had a blast working with Linda and Paul in developing this very special keepsake edition. Producing any community newspaper is a labor of love. For Linda and Paul, though, it was more than that. It was a calling. Merrick Life enriched the lives of Merrick residents for generations.
