The sun was shining and spring was in the air for the Central Nassau Athletic Association annual little league parade and opening day ceremony on Saturday, April 23. Ballplayers all dressed up, parents and community members marched down Carman Avenue before a ceremony was held at the field to mark opening day of the baseball and softball season.
CNAA takes in kids from ages 4 to 14 from East Meadow, Salisbury and Westbury. Dozens are registered to play on a Rebels squad with children in their age groups this spring.
President Joe Aloi welcomed families and Community Association of Stewart Avenue President Helen Meittinis spoke a few words while local officials were also in attendance for the festive day.
