Central Synagogue of Nassau County to celebrate anniversary

Rockville Centre Reform temple will mark 75 years

Members of Central Synagogue of Nassau County will celebrate the temple’s 75th anniversary and to mark this milestone, they have scheduled various events on the weekend of May 13-15.

On Friday evening a Shabbat dinner and service will feature a guest speaker, Peter Weidhorn, who is chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Union for Reform Judaism. Longtime synagogue members, for 36 years or more, will be recognized at this service and members of the community are welcome to attend.

On May 14 — Saturday evening — there will be a gala dinner honoring Central Synagogue, its past presidents and the congregation’s current president. 

The festivities will continue with a barbecue on Sunday, May 15, for members and families of students in the religious school.
