Chamber helps students prep for real world

Business leaders team with East Meadow High School for mock interview day

Posted

Tell me a little bit about yourself. When and why did you pursue this job? What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Those were some of the questions raised by East Meadow business leaders on May 25 at East Meadow High School during Mock Interview Day. Volunteers from the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce spent a morning conducting interviews with students, while also offering advice and constructive criticism. Each student had about a 10-minute interview, followed by a short critique.

Forty-six students participated in the second annual Mock Interview Day at EMHS. There were 28 East Meadow Chamber businesses represented at the event.

All kinds of fields were represented, including sales, journalism, restaurant management and real estate.

Participating students were members of Melissa Woison's business management course.
