The Bellmore Library chess club has been meeting over the past weeks. The program offers children in kindergarten to sixth grade the opportunity to learn the fine art of this age-old game of wits.
Taught by instructor Jason Luchan, the club listened to Luchan give a tutorial on the various pieces and moves. The children then squared off against one another to show their skills and the new moves they had learned.
