City of Long Beach declares snow emergency

In anticipation of severe weather, the City Manager Charles Theofan has declared a snow emergency as of 12:00 p.m. Wednesday and remaining in effect until Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

All vehicles must be removed from snow emergency routes, or they may be towed. During this time, the LIRR commuter parking lot will be available for all city residents free of charge.

Snow emergency routes include:

West Beech Street from New York Avenue to Nevada Avenue

West Park Avenue from New York Avenue to Nevada, Avenue

The west side of Maryland Avenue from West Beech Street to West Park Avenue

Shore Road from Long Beach Road to Pacific Boulevard

East Pine Street from Neptune Boulevard to Curley Street

Park Place or JJ Evans Blvd north of Park Avenue
