Clarke alumna named second-most powerful woman in the world

Westbury native and Kraft Foods CEO Irene Rosenfeld makes prestigious Forbes list

Forbes Magazine has named W.T. Clarke High School alumna Irene Rosenfeld, chairman and CEO of Kraft Foods, the second most powerful woman in the world.

Rosenfeld was ranked just behind First Lady Michelle Obama, who was No. 1 in Forbes' list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.

Rosenfeld grew up in Salisbury, and attended W.T. Clarke Middle School and High School. According to her Kraft Foods biography, Rosenfeld is a 29-year veteran of the food and beverage industry and recently made headlines when she led Kraft’s acquisition of Cadbury. Kraft is now a $48 billion corporation, according to the company Web site.
