Congratulations to NYU Law School graduate

Alex B. Lipton, son of Karen and Wayne Lipton, graduated from New York University Law School on May 19, earning his J.D.

A 2007 graduate of South Side High School, he earned his B.A. from Harvard College in 2011. He then spent two years as a teacher in San Jose, California in the Teach for America program.

Lipton received some of the highest awards given to NYU Law School Graduates. He was recognized in his first year of Law School as a Pomeroy Scholar finishing in the top ten students among his class of 500. At the end of his second year he again finished in the top ten students and was recognized as a Butler Scholar. He was a third-year executive editor of the Law Review and was awarded the Morton Geller Award for his contributions. He received the George P. Foulk Award for outstanding sincerity and distinguished scholarship, the Daniel G. Collins Prize for demonstrated excellence in contract law and was a Furman Scholar. He also is a candidate for membership in the Order of the Coif, a national scholastic legal society. Alex will be clerking for 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Carlos Bea in San Francisco this fall.
