Connecting commerce and community

On March 9, over 80 businesspeople gathered for a cocktail party in the atrium of the Hampton Inn and Suites. Refreshments were provided by Happy Hostess, MacArthur Park and Bargain Liquors.

Members of the Chamber of Commerce were asked to bring a new member along. Everyone had the opportunity to introduce themselves and describe their business. Among the topics covered in the discussion that followed were the importance of working together to gain a larger voice in the village, keeping Rockville Centre vibrant with shoppers spending in local businesses, the significance of networking and local issues including the appearance of the village and the ongoing parking situation that includes what some say is an aggressive parking ticket campaign.
