Construction shut down

Island Park residents near of 4535 Austin Boulevard were alerted when Nassau County Police and Town of Hempstead workers in HAZMAT suits showed up at the construction site.

According to town spokesman Susie Trenkle Pokalsky, the people working on the building did not file for the proper permits, so work was halted.
