County conducting mosquito spraying in Merrick on Aug. 4

Posted

The Nassau County Department of Health will be conducting mosquito spraying in the Merrick area today, Aug. 4, from 7 p.m. to midnight.

The department recently found mosquito larvae that tested positive for the West Nile virus at 30 sites across the county, including one in Merrick.

The Department of Health suggests that anyone in the immediate area of spraying close their windows, and set their air-conditioners to maximum and re-circulate to avoid exposure during spraying.
