The Nassau County Legislature held a public hearing Jan. 26, to ratify a map for the Long Beach Motor Inn property. Legislator Denise Ford said this was the step necessary to allow the legislature to publish a legal notice so the owner now can act on the county’s findings. Depending on what actions are taken, if any, the actual adoption process begins. Ford said the county attorney is keeping a close eye on the proceedings. She added the county wants to turn the property into senior housing.
