Arrests

Frank Swiatkowski, 45, of Mineola, was arrested at Atlantic Avenue/Davison Street in Oceanside on March 12 and charged on a Nassau County warrant that police said they issued due to possession of alcohol in a public place and trespassing.

Julio Aguilar, 19, Murtaza Gulamhussein, 18, and Keith Hernandez, 18, of Oceanside, were arrested on Kenneth Place in Oceanside on March 12 and charged with criminal trespassing. Police said they found the three men drinking and smoking in the basement of a building they did not have permission to be in.

Jessica Perez, 46, of Oceanside, was arrested at Austin Boulevard/Trafalgar Boulevard in North Long Beach on March 20 and charged with driving while intoxicated. Police said she was driving an unregistered car.

Dardan Gashl, 22, of East Rockaway, was arrested at Long Beach Road/Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside on March 18 and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Burglary

On March 14, someone tried to break into Union Park Cafe, 2823 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, by breaking the glass on the door and trying to pry it open.

Criminal Mischief

On March 11, a victim reported that someone broke the passenger window of her 2002 Infinity parked at South Nassau Communities Hospital, One Healthy Way, in Oceanside, and stole a GPS.

Criminal Mischief to Auto

On March 13, someone slashed the tires of two vehicles — a 2007 Mazda and a 2008 Honda — parked in a driveway on Carrel Boulevard in Oceanside.

On March 14, a victim reported scratches on the front, rear and side window of her 1999 Chrysler parked on Ostend Road in Island Park.

On March 24, a victim reported scratches on the hood and sides of his 1995 Ford parked on Balsam Street in Oceanside.

Crime Brief - Burglary in Oceanside

Police said that the owner of the Biggest Banana, 3359 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, reported that the front door of his grocery store had been smashed around 8:45 a.m. on March 26. The owner also reported that a metal box with money inside had been stolen from the store.
