Cyclist struck by car on West Merrick Road

A man riding a bicycle suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a car at the intersection of West Merrick Road and Hicks Street on Wednesday at approximately 2:25 p.m., according to the Valley Stream Fire Department.

Nassau County police and the VSFD responded to the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital, said Chief James Ervolino.
