Dancing the night away

Eleven Long Island High School chapters of Best Buddies gathered at Oceanside High School March 6 for the Second Annual Best Buddies prom. The international non-profit organization, with chapters in all 50 states as well as abroad, helps foster friendships and provide educational and career opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

More than 300 people from as nearby as Oceanside and Rockville Center to as far away as Harborfields and Shoreham-Wading River attended this year's prom at OHS for a night of dancing, food and fun.

The Oceanside School District would like to express gratitude to the following local restaurants for supporting the Best Buddies program and donating food for this year's event: Bridgeview, Whistle Stop, Sole, Kombert Caterers, Farmer Joel's, Villa Formia, Pizzaziola, Villa Maria, Sanibel Chophouse, 24 Hour Bagel, 7 Brothers, The Cabana, Gigantes, D'Cocco's, Steinberg's, Wrap & Roll, C.J.'s Rib Crib, Dominoes, Rosa's, Moe's and DaVinci's.
