Driver arrested in Rockville Centre after high-speed chase

Rockville Centre police arrested a Valley Stream resident on June 23 after a high-speed pursuit down Sunrise Highway.

According to RVCPD Inspector Glenn Quinn, Terrell Jordan, 25, refused to stop when officers signaled him to pull over for speeding. Jordan continued down the highway for a short time before leaving his car and setting out on foot.

“It only lasted a couple of minutes,” Quinn said. “He abandoned the car around Merrick Road and the officers caught him on foot.”

Jordan was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, resisting arrest, aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation, reckless driving, speeding, failing to signal a turn, failing to stop at a stop sign, crossing over double yellow line and avoiding an intersection or traffic signal light.
