AARP Tax Help for Seniors — Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m., beginning Feb. 8 through April 15.

IRS trained VITA students give free tax help to everyone — Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Feb. 6 to April 10.

Bridget Kibbey, Harpist

Harpist Bridget Kibbey is a winner of the 2007 Concert Artists Guild International Competition and recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant. Ms. Kibbey has been featured as soloist with the Juilliard Symphony, Israel Youth Philharmonic, Eastern Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra. As an orchestral harpist she has appeared with the New York Philharmonic and Boston Symphony. She was also one of a hand-selected group of emerging artists to perform in the Zankel Band for the inaugural concert in Carnegie’s Zankel Hall. The sounds of Latin America

Theo Torres, though a Peruvian musician, plays a wide variety of music styles common in Central and South America. Torres plays salsa, techno cumbia, Peruvian música criolla, Mexican rancheras and Dominican bachatas together with Vientos del Sur (Winds of the South), a group he founded in 2000. In 2005, Theo was awarded an apprenticeship grant by the New York State Council on the Arts as a master composer and musician. He is also a master teacher with Long Island Traditions’ arts-in-education programs. Senator Kemp Hannon’s Credit Rating and Identity Theft forum

The seminar features former Nassau County Deputy Commissioner of Consumer Affairs, James Reed. Mr. Reed will cover the topics of managing credit, how to fix bad credit, how to avoid identity theft and what to do if you are a victim of identity theft.

The seminar will take place on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the East Meadow Public Library. Can’t make it on Feb. 25? James Reed will be back to discuss the same topics on Thursday, April 8 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Franklin Square Public Library.

The Long Island Association of Football Officials is seeking people to become certified Nassau County High School football officials. An orientation class is scheduled at Bethpage High School, 10 Cherry Ave., Bethpage, at 7 p.m. in the Mini Theater. The $150 fee includes dues for 2010, books, papers, practice exams, the state exam and certification, door prizes and giveaways. Shabbat Across America

On Friday, March 5, Suburban Park Jewish Center, located on 400 Old Westbury Road in East Meadow, will simultaneously open its doors to practicing and non-practicing Jews alike, so they join together, rejoice in a traditional Shabbat service and festive meal. Led by Rabbi Sam Krasner and Cantor David Krasner, attendees will experience an interactive Friday night Explanatory Service and a traditional Shabbat dinner with all rituals explained. Pan-Orthodox Service
