The second ceremony was held on Monday evening. Scott Eckers, an East Meadow Board of Education trustee, lit the second oil candle on the temple’s oversized menorah.

The programs serve as celebrations of religious freedom, EMJC officials said. They invite the community to attend the remaining candle lightings, which will be held on the following dates:

- Friday, Dec. 11 at 4:05 p.m.

- Saturday, Dec. 12 at 5:25 p.m.
