The fire department walks away winning
The East Meadow Fire Department took part in the 6th Battalion Parade and Drill Competition hosted by the Seaford Fire Department last weekend where they picked up numerous awards. The EMFD Color Guard and Ladies Auxiliary each earned third-place awards and the musical unit finished second overall.
East Meadow Kiwanis helps Nassau County Burn Center
Nelson Finkelman, director of the Nassau County Fire Fighters Burn Center Foundation, recently accepted a $500 donation from East Meadow Kiwanis President Mitchell Allen. The money will help fund the state-of-the-art treatment center at Nassau University Medical Center. The facility provides quality burn care to anyone who is seriously scalded.
