Light Rain Fog/Mist Elmont's Church of God aids local students

The First Church of God in Elmont, led by Rev. Moni Mathew, is sponsoring a “Back To School Giveaway Bash” on Saturday Sept. 8. Bags of school supplies will be donated to local families on a first come basis. The event will take place at the Church, which is located at 657 Meacham Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be a variety of activities for the children including a dunk tank, bounce house and cotton candy. A surprise Mets player will also be on hand to greet children at 10 a.m. Many local businesses supplied the donations. Call (516) 354-9840 for more information.
