ER post office earns stamp of approval

You’ve heard of 5-Star restaurants and movies — there are also 5- Star post offices. East Rockaway Post Office earned a silver five-star rating as part of the Postal Service’s 5 Star Customer Service Program. Ratings are based on surveys by The Gallup Organization.

  “We’ve always provided excellent service,” said East Rockaway Acting Postmaster Kara Hammond. “Now we’ve got the stars to back it up.”

  The Gallup Organization surveyed USPS customers, asking them to rate local post offices on efficiency, accuracy of delivery, clerk information, consistency of delivery and wait-time-in-line. The East Rockaway office received a significant increase in “Excellent” ratings, earning the 5-Star Customer Service Award.

  “We’re really honored to receive this rating,” said Hammond. “It shows that our customers value the excellent service the employees in this office provide.”
