Fayette kids make a point of walking to school

To encourage children to embrace physical fitness and healthy living, Fayette Elementary School in North Merrick recently held its annual “Walk to School Day.”
Parents –– and in some cases, dogs –– accompanied children down Merrick Avenue toward Fayette on a beautiful, brisk fall morning.
The event was organized by the Fayette PTA, headed by Tracy Luckman, who is the Executive Committee chairwoman in charge of health and safety.
