Festive times at Malverne's fall fair

The Village of Malverne held its annual Fall Festival and Classic Car Show, sponsored by the Malverne Civic Association and Merchants and Professional Association, last Sunday — and it was as festive as could be expected.

In addition to a pet parade and scavenger hunt, the festival featured pet costumes, unique crafts and foods, face painting, temporary tattoos, a bake-off and performances by the Tap to Pointe dancers, members of the Malverne Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Malverne Fire Department and Nassau County mounted police.

Additionally, Crossroads Farm at Grossmann’s was a hit with festival-goers, as it offered hayrides, farm animals, pumpkin picking, children’s games, apple cider, live music by Ken Korb, a farm stand, seasonal plants and antique engines and fire trucks. There was even a goat-shearing demonstration, a community garlic planting and story time with Heather Forest.

People also lined up to me KJOY 98.3 Radio’s Lucky the Duck and spin the prize wheel, while others checked out some of the classic and vintage cars parked throughout the village.
