‘Finian’s Rainbow’ to light up East Meadow

Posted

Finian’s Rainbow, a comedy musical about the impact of gold on natives in the southwestern United States, will be performed by Temple Emanu-El congregants in the next two weekends.

The play, which originated on Broadway in the 1940s — and was made into a feature film in 1968 — is about residents in the fictional state of Missitucky (a combination of Mississippi and Kentucky) and the hilarity that ensues when leprechaun gold is stolen and taken from Ireland to the U.S.

The production will run on Saturdays, May 3 and 10 at 8 p.m., and Sundays, May 4 and 11 at 2 p.m. The price is $18 for adults, $14 for senior citizens and $9 for children under 18.
