While last winter dropped foot after foot of snow on Valley Stream, this year has proved to be quite the opposite.
The first flakes of the season fell on Saturday, covering the ground in about three inches of snow. Though a minor storm, it still sent residents out shoveling their sidewalks and clearing off their cars.
