Free screening for skin cancer

Early detection can save lives

Posted

Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers and will kill more than 10,000 people this year.

Although it is the most common form of cancer in the United States, it is also one of the most preventable, and treatable, forms of cancer when detected early. The American Cancer Society recommends routine professional skin examinations every three years for people ages 20 to 40 and yearly for anyone over 40.

By appointment only, South Nassau Communities Hospital will be providing free screenings for Skin Cancer Tuesday, Oct. 13. To schedule an appointment for a screening, call (516) 377-5333.
