Friends of Mercy Medical Center to honor Francis X. Murray

The Friends of Mercy Medical Center will hold their 45th annual gentlemen’s St. Patrick’s Dinner on March 10 at the Hempstead Golf and Country Club.

The honoree at the black-tie event will be Francis X. Murray of Rockville Centre, former member of the hospital’s board of trustees, president of the board of trustees of the Mercy Foundation and long-time member and former president of The Friends. Murray is also well-known for his extensive involvement in Rockville Centre community organizations and activities.

The featured speaker will be former U.S. Senator Alfonse D’Amato, founder and managing director of the public policy and business development firm Park Strategies, LLC, who is a regular Herald columnist.

The chairman of this year’s event is Chris Browne of Rockville Centre, former Republican candidate for the Nassau County Legislature, who maintains a law office in Garden City.ce

At the dinner, the Friends will present the proceeds of their 2010 fundraising activities, which were pledged to support the acquisition of new state-of-the-art cardiac diagnostic equipment for the hospital.
