Fundraising for Crohn’s and Colitis

On a damp fall evening last Wednesday, Irene Brociner stood outside Moe’s Southwest Grill and handed fliers to patrons. “This won’t affect your bill. It’s just for charity,” she told customers heading in for dinner.

Brociner was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at 26 years old and has become an active volunteer with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. This year, she hopes to raise enough money to return to Las Vegas on Dec. 4 and run with TeamChallenge as they raise awareness for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

“I feel at my best when I’m running,” she said. “This allows me to combine both passions.” Brociner is happy with the amount she raised, but is hoping to reach her desired goal before the event in December.
