Good morning, SSMS

Posted

Early last month, members of South Side Middle School’s TV Broadcast Club attended a taping of “Good Morning America” in Manhattan. The students briefly spoke with weather anchor Sam Champion and news anchor Juju Cheng. They also had an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour arranged by Rockville Centre resident Josh Hayden, who is the engineering manager for ABC Television. The group next headed over to Rockefeller Center to go on the NBC Studio Tour and ended the day by having lunch at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, which allowed student Quinn Lysaght to perform a solo number from “Les Miserables” for the restaurant’s patrons.

Ass’t Principal Rose Cammarata said the students had a wonderful experience that enabled them to become immersed in a “live” behind-the-scenes look at a professional television broadcast facility.
