Gotham Avenue honors sixth-grade students

Gotham Avenue School sixth-graders were honored for their notable contributions to their school and community at the Sixth-Grade Awards Assembly on June 12.

Assistant Principal Michelle Richards led the ceremony, which recognized student achievement and exemplary effort in academics, the arts and community service. Congratulations to Zacary Louis and Victor Phill, recipients of the Elmont Dads’ Club Award. Zacary and Victor received several awards at the ceremony, including the New York State Comptroller Achievement Award, along with Suren Armogan and Shawn Springer. Many sixth-grade students were multiple awards winners, including Brianna Benoit, Katherine Diaz-Hernandez, Guadalupe Reyes, Soraya Schmitz and Emily Venkatasami, who in addition to other honors received the prestigious New York State Attorney General Triple “C” Award. Richards commended all of the students on their outstanding accomplishments and wished them success in their future endeavors.
