The Central High School District hosted its 59th annual District Music Festival on March 11, the proceeds of which went toward funding scholarships for several exceptional music students.

Members of the District Festival Symphonic Orchestra, Mixed Chorus and Concert Band were selected through a district wide auditions process. As a highlight of the evening, the recipients of music scholarships funded by the event were announced.

Central High School student Annie Fitzgerald, North High School student Morgan Foster and South High School student Allyce Yang were honored as this year’s recipients of this year’s music scholarships, which recognize graduating seniors who have excelled throughout their music careers in the district.

The Valley Stream PTA and PTSA Council co-sponsored this annual event in conjunction with the district’s music department.
