Hit-and-run driver sends teen to hospital in Rockville Centre

A 14-year-old was hit by a car on North Village Avenue on Sept. 27 and was in serious but stable condition as of Sept. 30, according to Nassau County Police Department.

According to detectives, the teen male victim was walking southbound on the shoulder of North Village Avenue when he was struck by a white Dodge Durango, which was traveling northbound. Witnesses describe the driver, who exited the vehicle and looked at the victim before leaving the scene, as a 6-foot-tall black male with a stocky build. The victim was transported in a Northwell ambulance to a local hospital.
