House robbery in Gibson

Posted

Three men forced their way into a Gibson home last week, and assaulted and robbed the residents. According to police, the men broke into the Birch Lane home on July 9 at 10:20 a.m., stealing about $5,000 cash, a laptop computer and two flat-screen televisions.

Police say there were three people home at the time — a mother and her son and daughter. Two of the suspects identified themselves as Nassau County police narcotics detectives, but when asked for identification, one of the men pointed a gun at the woman and told her to get on the floor.

The son was taken from his bedroom with a gun pointed at his head, then hit in the face with the gun. He suffered pain and swelling, and was later treated at the scene by Nassau County emergency medical staff.

The suspects ransacked the home. The first suspect is described as a white male, 40 years old. The second suspect is described as a black male, 25 years old and there is no description of the third suspect. They fled in a black sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
