The rain held off just long enough for the Island Park Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club to hold the annual Pancake Breakfast. The Firemen’s Exempt Hall was home to the feast on June 5. Breakfast featured pancakes and ham, donuts, bagels, juice and coffee or tea, plus basket raffles and a 50/50.

Kiwanis Treasurer Henry “Mickey” Hastava said they raised about $2400, which will go toward sending disadvantaged and handicapped children from Island Park to Kamp Kiwanis, plus provide scholarship monies to graduates of Island Park Schools.

The Island Park, Point Lookout Lido Republican Club helped cover the expenses, pancake batter and syrup were donated by IHOP in Oceanside, The Island Park Diner donated butter, raffle baskets were donated by the Oceanside Kiwanis Club.

Island Park Little League, Builder’s Club and the Oceanside Key Club helped serve and clean up along with volunteers for various area Kiwanis Clubs. Both organizations thanks the I.P. Fire Department for its support.
