Those who love rock ‘n roll, or Joan Jett in particular, will not need to put another dime in the jukebox to hear her perform. Instead, they could catch the iconic rock star live at Eisenhower Park this Saturday, Aug. 22.

Jett, a one time resident of both Rockville Centre and Long Beach, will play at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, with her band the Blackhearts, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

The show is part of Nassau County’s summer concert series, which has welcomed prominent musical acts to the lakeside theatre throughout recent months — but none bigger than Jett.

Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame this year, Jett and the Blackhearts have produced eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles.

Two years ago, Jett performed at the Madison Theatre in Molloy College in Rockville Centre in front of a sold out crowd.

The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is near parking fields 6 and 6A. There is no formal seating at Lakeside, so concertgoers are urged to bring folding chairs or blankets. If weather conditions are doubtful, residents can call (516) 572-0355 after 6:30 p.m. for updated performance information.
