Over 700 job seekers from areas near and far attended the first ever Career Fair sponsored by Sen. Dean Skelos in the gymnasium of the Recreation Center on May 21.

Dressed in business attire and carrying resumes, they were greeted by representatives from over 60 companies in a range of industries who were looking for employees with a variety of skills. Facilitators from Hofstra University held a workshop on how to work a job fair in an adjoining room.

“I’m happy to have been able to provide this Career Fair to those people who continue to struggle with finding employment,” said Skelos. “With many people in our community unemployed or underemployed, it was great to see so many potential employees and employers brought together. I wish all those who attended luck in finding a job and I will continue to work to provide forums like this that provide real value to the constituents of the 9th Senate District.”
