Labor Day Weekend Celebration
Enjoy Labor Day weekend in the spirit of the mid 19th century at Old Bethpage Village. Picnic to the sounds of fiddle music and the Old Bethpage Village Military Brass Sextet, and dancers performing the steps of the day. Craftspeople demonstrate the art of decoy carving and the celebrated Old Time Base Ball League play matches on Sunday.

Medieval Festival
Take the family on a journey back to the days of 14th Century royal revelry at the colorful festival on the grounds of the former Gold Coast estates at Sands Point Preserve, Castlegould and Hempstead House. The popular annual event features nights in shining armor, medieval archers and kings and queens. Knights on horseback thrill the crowds with jousting, Medieval bowman will present an archery demonstration, along with period entertainment, and more fun and games throughout the day.

Family Outing

Saltwater Fishing Clinic
Bring the kids to the ocean for a try at saltwater fishing, courtesy of The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s “I FISH NY” program. The free program teaches kids the basics of saltwater fishing, complete with loaner fishing rods, bait and tackle. The day starts off with education stations including basic fishing techniques, fish biology and ecology and seafood safety. Open fishing follows.
